THE POSITIONS OF THE X-RAY SOURCES IN THE GLOBULAR-CLUSTERS TERZAN-1,TERZAN-5 AND NGC-6440

We present improved positions for the X-ray sources in the globular cl usters Terzan 1, Terzan 5 and NGC 6440, and show that they are in the cores of the clusters. We confirm the long-term variability of the sou rces in Terzan 1 and Terzan 5. We compare the radial distribution of t he bright X-ray sources with that of the radio pulsars in globular clu sters, and find suggestive differences between them, particularly for the binary pulsars.
