Abstract
Four cases of pancreatic fistula were treated with somatostatin. Two c ases occurred after caudal pancreatectomy and the other 2 after duoden opancreatectomy. Somatostatin rapidly reduced fistula flow by 50% 48 h ours after treatment. The shorter hospital stay and reduced morbidity underline the importance of somatostatin in the treatment of pancreati c fistulae.
