Abstract
A method for the rapid determination of the metal content in lubricati ng greases using xylene-hydrochloric acid extraction has been develope d. Determination was by AAS. The results were found to have comparable precision and repeatability to those of conventional methods. The met hod requires only a simple modification of a glass extraction unit. Th e relative standard deviation was 0.520-0.650% (n = 5).
