Abstract
The possibility of the simultaneous determination of two catalysts thr ough a single catalytic kinetic run by using the 'rate spectrum' is di scussed. The reaction between IO4- and As-III catalysed by Os-VIII and Cr-III is used as an example. The change in the concentration of IO4- with time is measured with a ClO4--selective electrode. Owing to the conspicuous difference in the rate spectra of the Os-VIII- and Cr-III- catalysed reactions, the simultaneous determination of the two catalys ts is possible. Principal component regression can be used to solve th e rate spectra of binary mixtures.
