R. Rinaldi et al., PRIMARY SYSTEMIC AMYLOIDOSIS PRESENTING WITH POLYNEUROPATHY CHARACTERIZED BY VERY LONG SURVIVAL, Acta neurologica Scandinavica, 91(6), 1995, pp. 511-513
We report a case of primary systemic amyloidosis associated with IgA m
onoclonal gammopathy presenting with sensorimotor polyneuropathy. For
10 years the neurological symptoms were the only clinical manifestatio
n. A great deal of therapy was given right from the onset of symptoms
and the very long survival of the patient may have been due to these e
fforts.
