Abstract
The results of the self-consistent spin-polarized FLAPW calculations o f the electronic structures of seven-layer Fe(100) and Ni(100) films a re presented. The possibility of comparing data obtained from experime nt and from first-principles calculations is discussed. In this connec tion the layer-projected magnetic moments corresponding to a narrow en ergy interval (0.2 eV) just below the Fermi level are introduced. 2D F ermi surfaces are presented.
