Abstract
A case of urinary retention was associated with an incarcerated, retro verted, gravid uterus. In a literature review of the English language we encountered 26 similar cases. Although no series of cases has allow ed evaluation of a specific protocol for evaluation and management or analysis of outcomes, a review of the literature does outline certain diagnostic tests and treatment modalities that may be useful when one is faced with this uncommon condition.
