Heliotropium bacciferum (family Boraginaceae) which grows wildly in Ga
ssim region, central Saudi Arabia, may pose some health hazard to anim
als grazing in the region as it has been reported to contain toxic alk
aloids (Bull et al., 1968; Migahid, 1978). The present experiment was
designed to investigate some of the toxic effects of the plant on Najd
i sheep.
