Bumble foot in poultry is a cause of significant economic loss to the
poultry industry owing to a localized unilateral or bilateral infectio
n in foot that cause bulbous swelling of foot pad and surrounding tiss
ues. From the report available in the literature (Peckham, 1984) only
a few individuals in the flock are affected. The present communication
I reports the isolation and drug sensitivity of bacteria from cases o
f bumble foot in poultry maintained in an organised farm.
