Abstract
Glucocorticoids and non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are generally used for inflammatory conditions in animals. NSAIDS have go t side effects such as CNS depression, gastric ulcerations, inflammati on of intestines and effects in haematocrit values. These are reported after high oral dosages or after continuous use for longer periods. I buprofen is a potent NSAID and its side effects after oral administrat ion in human beings and animals are also reported. But such informatio n after ibuprofen injections in animals is not available. The present study was undertaken to assess the safety of ibuprofen in dogs after c ontinuous i/m administration for 7 days.
