Abstract
Disophenol (2,6-diiodo-4-nitrophenol) is an effective systemic anthelm intic drug against hookworms in dogs and cats (Jones, 1988). An inject ion @ 10 mg/kg body weight sub-cutaneously is effective in removing th e worms (Dame and Webb, 1964). Administration of disophenol beyond its therapeutic range could be toxic and even fatal.
