The poor reproductive performance of buffaloes is a major constraint f
or economic dairy production. The manifestation and detection of estru
s assumes greater importance in this species. In dairy cattle about on
e half-of the oestrous periods pass off undetected (Esslemont, 1977; K
ing et.al. 1976). Similar study is therefore conducted to determine th
e heat detection rates in a Murrah Buffalo herd.
