As. Franco, RAPID TIDAL ANALYSES, FROM A 3 3 4 JULIAN YEARS SPAN UP TO A NODAL CYCLE SPAN, WITH A PC/, The International hydrographic review, 72(1), 1995, pp. 59-67
It will be shown how analyses of tidal records of n2(14) hourly heigh
ts, with n from 2 up to more than 10, can be quickly performed by usin
g a PC. The method on which such analysis is based is the one develope
d by FRANCO and HARARI (1988). If the analysis of a 102(14) hourly he
ights span, very nearly equal to a nodal cycle, is worked out, then th
e main constituents and the respective satellites, a total of 1014, ca
n be separated in 6 minutes and 25 seconds if a PC 386 DX (40 megahert
z), with coprocessor, is available.
