Abstract
Radiative electron capture (REC) studies using fully stripped channele d ions of C, O, F, Si, S and Cl are reported. The observed energy shif ts in the REC photon energy and the higher yields of REC photons using crystalline targets, when compared with the available gas target data , are indicative of a Z/v dependent ''ion-solid-state'' effect caused by the electron wake field induced by the moving ion.
