Abstract
An explicit algebraic design model for vapor permeation systems is pre sented. The model is valid for binary mixtures, and is based on a blac k-box representation of the transport properties across the membrane. Based on this design model, some of the trade-offs in a hybrid distill ation and vapor permeation process are illustrated through parametric studies.
