Abstract
Total attenuation cross sections of several amino acids have been meas ured for 661.6, 1173 and 1332.5 keV photons in a narrow beam good geom etry set up, using a hyper pure germanium detector. The values are com pared with the values calculated with the aid of mixture rule from the data of Hubbell [Hubbell J. H. (1982), Int. J. Appl. Radiat. Isot. 33 , 1269] for the individual elements.
