Abstract
Radiolytic reduction of merocyanine 540 (MC) in methanol solution was studied by pulse radiolysis. The rate constants for reaction of solvat ed electrons with MC in neutral and alkaline methanol were determined and the spectrum of the MC reduced transient was obtained.
