Abstract
The study deals with the application of solvent percolation technique to separate oil from commercial microcrystalline wax flakes produced f rom Ankelshwar tank bottom sludges. Wax deoiling has been accomplished by percolating industrial hexane through a packed bed of the wax flak es at ambient temperature and removing the solvent from the wax and oi l phases to get hard wax and foots oil respectively. The resultant pro duct wax has oil content of about 2 per cent and needle penetration va lue of 4 at 25-degrees-C.
