Abstract
Of concern in this paper is a study of the steady laminar flow of an i ncompressible viscous Newtonian fluid in a curved circular tube. It is assumed that the flow consists of a frictionless central core region surrounded by a thin boundary-layer. Analytical expressions for the bo undary-layer thickness, mean axial velocity and frictional resistance of the flow are derived. Using the derived expressions, numerical resu lts have also been computed. They are presented in a form suitable for practical use.
