The neutrino absorption cross section sigma(v) is calculated for heavy
nuclei, and its dependence on the neutron excess, representation of t
he force function for beta-decay, and parameters of the neutrino spect
rum is considered. A weak dependence of the cross section on the neutr
on excess is accounted for. The stability of calculation results with
respect to both the model of the force function selected for beta-deca
y and approximation of the neutrino spectrum is assessed. The agreemen
t between theory and experimental measurements performed with both wat
er and chlorine detectors is shown to improve if the neutrino count ra
te is calculated with neutrino-capture reactions on nuclei of the neut
rino detector taken into account. The results obtained may be used in
calculations of nucleosynthesis and neutrino detection.
