The asymptotic expansions for the Kummer function obtained in the stud
y of the linear response of magnetized Bose plasmas at T = 0 K are pre
sented for large and small values of its parameter, thereby displaying
the function's asymptotic nonuniformity. The large parameter expansio
n plays a determining role in the behavior of these Bose systems in th
e limit that the external magnetic field B --> 0. This particular expa
nsion is generalized herein and its validity tested by determining the
asymptotic expansion for the Hurwitz zeta function.
