A series of optically pure derivatives possessing a 1-phenyl-2-phthali
mide system (2-10) has been synthesized from (1S,2S)-1-phenyl-2-phthal
imido-1,3-propanediol (1) under the action of p-toluenesulfonyl chlori
de in pyridine.
