Abstract
Alkylation and acylation of electron-deficient aromatic compounds by o rganosilicon compounds and CH-acids under phase-transfer conditions ar e investigated. In the case of di- and trinitrobenzenes the substituti on is realized via a two-step process with the formation of anionic si gma-complexes and their subsequent oxidation. Direct nucleophilic arom atic sustitution was used in the case of perfluoroarenes and mononitro arenes.
