Abstract
One-hump maps as single species pioneer and climax ecological models c onfirm the expected pioneer exclusion in an uninterrupted two dimensio nal discrete pioneer-climax competition model. Other dynamic situation s occur in such models. In particular a mutual exclusion principle is presented as a mathematical theorem.
