In 1993, 71 hymenopteran type specimens from the University of Califor
nia, Berkeley's Essig Museum were deposited in four other institutions
: the California Academy of Sciences (San Francisco, California), the
Queensland Museum (Brisbane, Australia), the Plant Protection Research
Institute (Pretoria, South Africa) and the U.S. National Museum (Wash
ington, D.C.). The specimens are Braconidae, Ichneumonidae, Scelionida
e, Eucoilidae, Perilampidae, Encyrtidae, Aphelinidae, Eulophidae, Tric
hogrammatidae, Mymaridae and Bethylidae, and represent 54 holotypes, 1
2 allotypes and 5 syntypes. The three holotype specimens of Bactropria
brasiliensis Kieffer, Xyalopria ruficornis Kieffer and Ganaspis reclu
sa Kieffer are reported missing.
