Abstract
A new approach to the quantum description of resonance multiphoton pro cesses is suggested. This approach is based on the conditional separat ion of the degrees of freedom of the photon field into two classes: '' external'' and ''internal''. The equivalence class for the internal de grees of freedom is called ''photon cluster''. Hamiltonians for resona nce multiphoton transitions in two-level systems are formulated in ter ms of photon clusters, rather than in terms of usual single-photon sta tes. The supersymmetry of these Hamiltonians is investigated.
