Abstract
The University of Maryland at Baltimore (UMAB) is an urban professiona l school campus. Its 36 acres include 39 buildings, both historic and new. The campus fabric is marked by diversity. The new facilities mast er plan was developed to reflect the strategic planning process for th e campus. Design guidelines are intended to create a common theme whil e still encouraging each building to have a unique identity. The new H ealth Sciences Library/Information Services building will sit diagonal ly from Davidge Hall, built in 1812 and the symbolic center of the cam pus.
