Mass spectra of resonant dissociative electron attachment (RDEA) have
been recorded for molecules of furan, thiophene, selenophene, pyrrole,
N-methylpyrrole, and of lactam series (CH2)nCONH (n = 3,5,7,11), (CH2
)5CONCOMe.. For four molecules of the lactam series photoelectron (PE)
spectra have been obtained, and spectral bands between 9 and 12 eV ha
ve been interpreted using MNDO calculations. Electronic structures of
molecular negative ions (M-.) in the resonant states have been identif
ied. These states were found to be electronically excited Feshbach res
onances. Their parent states are the first triplet state and a series
of singlet states of the molecules.
