While studying the effect of methanol on the recoil reactions of (n, g
amma) activated Br-80m, Br-80 and Br-82 species originating from 4-bro
moacetanilide (4-BAN) by the charge plate technique (CPT), we observed
that the vapour from a 0.012 mole fraction (mf) of 4-BAN solution in
methanol severely attacks the paraffin cylinder and causes it to melt;
the source unit went under the melting.
