So far, screening with the application of pressure screens cannot be c
alculated. However, the flow of the suspension through the screen perf
orations with the feed flow tangentially directed against the perforat
ed basket is of fundamental significance. Starting from this significa
nt aspect, an empiric model was developed which makes it possible to d
escribe the fiber passage propability affected by the average speed of
flows under consideration of fiber characteristics such as length and
stiffness.
