H2O soluble mixed ligand complexes of the type [M-(ADA)B.H2O], where M
= Ni-II or Cu-II; [ADA](2-) = divalent anion of N-(2-acetamido)iminod
iacetic acid, B = heterocyclic diimine (2,2'-bipyridyl or 1,10-phenant
hroline), were prepared and characterized by elemental and thermal ana
lyses, i.r. and electronic spectra, as well as conductivity measuremen
ts. Formation constants for the 1:1:1 ternary cobalt(II), nickel(II) a
nd copper(II) complexes formed in solution were determined potentiomet
rically at 24 degrees C and mu = 0.1 mol dm(-3) (KNO3).
