Abstract
Ultrahigh-vacuum scanning tunneling spectroscopy and tunneling spectro scopy measurements of polypyrrole-vacuum-metal and polypyrrole-vacuum- polypyrrole tunneling junctions indicates the existence of three chara cteristic energy levels, 0.60, -0.40, and -0.65 eV near the Fermi leve l of an as-grown polypyrrole films. The measured energy levels of -0.4 0 and -0.65 eV could be attributed to localized filled states and mobi lity edge, respectively.
