Abstract
The authors determined biokinetic parameter data for the activated slu dge treatment of a TMP effluent and total mill effluent for one mill a nd TMP effluent for a second mill. The significant parameters were sub strate removal rate constant, sludge production coefficients, and oxyg en requirement coefficients. Biokinetic data permitted a review of pro posed designs for total mill effluent treatment systems. For one desig n, the review suggested major modification including substantial reduc tion in the aerated reactor volume.
