A method based on Landolt photometry in B and V is developed to correc
t for a wavelength independent offset of the absolute flux level of op
tical spectrophotometric standards. The method is based on synthetic p
hotometry techniques in B and V and is accurate to similar to 1%. The
correction method is verified by Hubble Space Telescope Faint Object S
pectrograph absolute fluxes for five calibration stars, which agree wi
th Landolt photometry to 0.5% in B and V.
