Ay. Zaikin et Va. Nigmatullin, NETWORKING OF CARBON-BLACK IN POLYMERS IN THE PRESENCE OF AN INTERFACE, Kautschuk und Gummi, Kunststoffe, 47(10), 1994, pp. 709
An attempt has been made to study the cause of the increased electrica
l conductivity of heterogeneous mixtures of polyethylene and ethylene-
vinylacetate copolymer with various polymers. Using the data of electr
ical conductivity measurements of polymer mixtures during the formatio
n of phase boundary it is proposed that superadditive conductivity in
mixtures under consideration is due to the presense of the loosened po
lymer layer along the interface, The existence of such a layer had bee
n shown previously. Increased mobility of macromolecules and carbon bl
ack particles within the loosened layer favours the formation of more
perfect conducting network of carbon black.
