Abstract
Most mixtures of high molecular weight polymers are not miscible in th e absence of specific intermolecular interactions. We have used two di mensional NMR in solutions and in the solid state to probe these inter actions and to gain a molecular level understanding of the forces that control polymer blend formation. The results show that weak, but spec ific intermolecular interactions often control the phase structure of polymer blends.
