Abstract
Art experimental procedure to measure at high strain rates the energy release rate of a crack in the adhesive layer of a bonded structure ha s been developed. The sample has a beam geometry. If the instant at wh ich the crack starts to propagate is known precisely, the critical str ain energy release rate G(c) can be obtained from the G versus time cu rve.
