Abstract
The process of the reconstruction of the epoxy polymer-aluminium inter face during the storage of the adhesive joints in water was studied. T he storage in water first leads to the separation of the system compon ents and then to the restoration of its integrity. As a result the ini tial level of adhesive strength is reached or even exceed. Of all the variable parameters investigated the temperature was found to have the most significant effect on the rate of the restoration of the adhesio n bonds in an aqueous medium. A mechanism bf the process was proposed based on the sorption and calorimetric studies of the adhesion systems in an aqueous medium.
