Abstract
The mesophase, interpreted from the modified two-term unfolding model [1], is assumed as viscoelastical material, the energy dissipated per cycle, due to the viscosity of the mesophase, can be therefore calcula ted. On the other, hand, based on the work of Zorowski and Murayama [2 ], the interfacial adhesion absorbs a portion of energy by slippage in mechanical joints subjected to a cycle of loading. Thus, we consider an equivalent of these two energies, which conducts a relation between the loss-mesophase of the module and their interfacial adhesion. Thro ugh simplification, the tan delta of composite con be finally expresse d by the adhesion, the fiber volume fraction and the mechanical proper ties of constituents.
