Abstract
The electrolyte composition and conditions of lead recovery by electro lysis of alkaline aqueous-glycerol solutions have been. optimized. Wit h stirring of the electrolyte the initial current density canreach 600 A.m(-2), with the current efficiency being no less than 90%. In the c ase of recovering lead from the filling paste of spent lead batteries with the aid of this electrolytic process, preliminary desulfation of the raw material is advisable.
