Structure of the surface intermediates in the heterogeneous catalytic
transformations of hydrocarbons, alcohols and acids, obtained basing o
n the spectral (mainly IR-spectral) investigations is studied. The cat
alytic roles of definite structures are arranged in accordance with th
e degree of trustworthiness: the lower degree - on the base of the spe
ctra before and after catalysis, the middle degree - on the base of sp
ectral data in situ, but without kinetic measurements, and the higher
degree - on the base of spectral data in situ together with the compar
ison of the reaction kinetics and the kinetics of the surface compound
s concentration changes. Schemes of the heterogeneous catalytic reacti
ons mechanisms are given, proposed on the base of the information abou
t surface complexes.
