Abstract
New o-mercaptoaryl and o-mercaptoheteroaryl phosphonates and their der ivatives were prepared via an ortho-lithiation of O,O-diisopropyl S-ar yl: S-(2-pyridyl), S-(2-thienyl) and S-(3-thienyl) phosphorothioates f ollowed by a phosphonyl group S --> C migration.
