Abstract
Transition probabilities corresponding to one-photon transitions to Ry dberg states of the methyl radical have been calculated with a molecul ar-adapted version of the quantum defect orbital (QDO) method. The res ults appear to be in accord with those of an analysis of the experimen tal spectrum by Herzberg.
