Abstract
The magnetic field dependence of fluorescence from the geminate recomb inations of isooctane, neopentane or anthracene cations with perfluoro benzene or perfluorocyclobutane anions are compared for excitation by vacuum UV light and by beta particles. Differences in the characterist ics of this dependence, especially in the vicinity of the level-crossi ng resonances, are attributed to differences in radial probability den sities of initial geminate ion-pair separation distances.
