Electron drift surfaces have been measured using beam mapping method i
n Compact auburn Torsatron. The electron beams with the energy 0.1 keV
less than or equal to E less than or equal to 2 keV are launched para
llel to the toroidal magnetic field of B = (0.04 similar to 0.05) T. S
hift of the drift surface from magnetic surface is measured as a funct
ion of beam energy which shows an agreement with a theoretical predict
ion. Behavior of drift orbits near magnetic islands has been also inve
stigated.
