Yv. Karlin et Vn. Kropotov, ELECTRODIALYSIS SEPARATION OF NA-MODE( AND CA2(+) IN A PULSED CURRENT), Russian journal of electrochemistry, 31(5), 1995, pp. 472-476
Electrodialysis separation of Na+ and Ca2+ cations has been studied in
the pulsed current mode on a cation-exchange membrane of the MK-40 ty
pe and on a reversely osmotic membrane of the MGP type. It is shown th
at the use of the pulsed current offers possibilities for controlling
the membrane ion-transport selectivity by changing parameters of the p
ulsed mode. It is noted that the range of the membrane ion-transport s
electivity in the pulsed mode is not wider than that under galvanostat
ic conditions. The frequency dependences of the separation coefficient
s of ions and ionic fluxes through the membrane under experimental con
ditions are found to display no resonances.
