The technology of ammonium persulfate production at anodes from glassy
carbon produced by domestic industry is under development. The additi
on of a fluoride additive into electrolyte is shown to improve corrosi
on and electrochemical properties of a glassy carbon anode. Effect of
fluoride and sulfate ion concentrations as well as pH on the kinetics
and selectivity of ammonium persulfate formation and anode corrosion r
esistance is studied. The possibility of replacing the filtering diaph
ragm, which is used in ammonium persulfate production, with a MF-4SK c
ation-exchange membrane is investigated.
