S. Rabouanguyon et al., DETERMINATION OF ACEFYLLINE HEPTAMINOL IN PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATIONSBY HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY, Il Farmaco, 51(11), 1996, pp. 739-746
This paper describes two simple and rapid procedures for the determina
tion of heptaminol and of both acetylline and benzyl alcohol, using re
versed phase high performance liquid chromatography under isocratic co
nditions and UV spectrophotometric detection. For heptaminol, procedur
e includes a precolumn derivatizatin by orthophthaldialdehyde in prese
nce of reducing agent, in alkaline buffer. It is specific, linear, acc
urate (recovery mean = 99.90 +/- 0.44%), reliable (precision = 1.00%)
and sensitive (0.007 mg/l in the drug). For acefylline and benzyl alco
hol, the procedure uses hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, for an ion
-pair technique. It is specific, linear, accurate (recovery means = 99
.65 +/- 0.52% and 99.65 +/- 1.10% respectively), reliable (precisions
< 1.5%) and sensitive (0.30 mg/l and 0.01 mu l/l respectively, in the
drug).
