P. Lavallard et Ra. Suris, POLARIZED PHOTOLUMINESCENCE OF AN ASSEMBLY OF NON CUBIC MICROCRYSTALSIN A DIELECTRIC MATRIX, Solid state communications, 95(5), 1995, pp. 267-269
A model is presented which explains the high degree of polarization of
luminescence observed in porous silicon under non resonant polarized
excitation. It is assumed that the luminescence comes from Si ellipsoi
ids or Si chains in SiO2. The polarization of light is obtained by a t
wo-step process, selection of ellipsoids or chains elongated along the
polarization direction of light and preferential emission along the s
ame direction.
