J. Reicher et E. Csiszar, CHEMICAL DECOMPOSITION OF THE VEGETABLE IMPURITIES OF COTTON FIBERS .2., Cellulose Chemistry and Technology, 28(6), 1994, pp. 585-594
Twelve times higher is the amount of inorganic constituents in the mod
el substance for husks than in raw cotton. The difference is eight fol
d concerning the Ca and Mg content. Consequently, for a complete remov
al of the impurities, significantly higher concentration of tile seque
stering agent should be used, as in conventional cotton scouring. Amou
nt and constitution of wax in tile model substance has also been deter
mined.
